Why would a Chelated Zinc supplement contain Copper?

Posted under zinc acne by Dan Johnson on Thursday 29 October 2009

I bought Chelated Zinc to treat acne and was told Chelated Zinc is most effective and easily absorbed. I recently learned that Copper is an inhibitor that interferes with Zinc…
Can someone please explain this to me?

    These are the supplement facts:
    Zinc 15mg (as 50% zinc arginate, 25% histidinate & 25% zinc glycinate)
Copper 2mg (as 50% copper lysinate & 50% copper glycinate)

Will this help with acne or should I get regular Zinc?
    I appreciate any help!

I just bought a zinc supplement for my brother, and before buying it i was reading in some natural prescription book at the store about zinc. It said that if you are taking too much zinc it can deplete the amount of copper in your body, so its best to take both. Also i read you should start with 50 mg of zinc a day, with 2-5 mg of copper. I hope this is helpful!

i got Zinc 30 mg supplments
    and i take one everyday,
mostly in the afternoon after every meal,
but i havent really seen results, so i want to know can i take
one in the morning and one at night?
    is that ok?
because this girl she took 3 10mg’s at the same time tho! and she broke out like crazyyyyyyyyy!!! like she drank one after the other
but i wanna know if i can only take 2 one every morning and one at night? :DD

    help plzzzzzzzzzz :D
Try using Bentonite Clay, a natural mineral powder which has been known to absorb impurities and help neutralise the skin’s oiliness, and can be found online. Mix 2 tablespoons with a dash of cold water and smooth over the face as a thick paste. Once dried gently wipe off with a flannel or sponge.

Another way to zap pimples is shaving cream. Apply it to your pimple and it will dry it up. It disappears by morning, but washes your face after waking up. If nothing is working for you, drink four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted with water daily. It works very well for some people and is worth a try. Another good solution is aloe Vera gel fresh from the plant, taken orally.

You can also try taking a zinc tablet everyday.

Mix some lemon juice and rose water in a small bowl and apply it on your pimples, ONLY YOUR PIMPLES, over night. It will burn a little. When you wake up in the morning, your pimples will reduce.

    Good Luck…

Zinc good for acne? Help appreciated.?

Posted under zinc acne by Dan Johnson on Friday 16 October 2009

Hey, I just been reading online that although it doesn’t cure acne, zinc can help reduce it. Has anyone used zinc supplements and seen and improvement? Also what’s is the right type to take. Thanks in advance.

Apparently, from what I have read, zinc gluconate supplements, 30mg per day, can improve your acne. One of the theories is that people who have acne have lower zinc levels than people without acne. So they think that zinc deficiency and acne are related. Zinc is also an antioxidant, which means that it cleans your body of toxins and free radicals. Also, it is said to regulate your oil glands from producing too much sebum, and there for clogging pores, and becoming infected. It also heals tissues and prevents acne scarring and promotes a healthy immune system. Other forms of zinc that are recommended are zinc picolate zinc acetate, and zinc monomethionone. Now, I don’t know if I buy the whole acne-cure thing, but taking zinc supplements (not too much-there is such thing as zinc toxicity) wouldn’t hurt, so I say go for it!
