If over the counter products aren't working for black heads, the best treatment is Retinoids. It will help unplug blocked pores and reduce any inflammation. Retinoid preparations are available on prescription.
References :
Registered Nurse

first don't panic.

How old are you?

You need to exfoliate once or twice a week, this gets rid of dead skin and helps eliminate the excess oil which is trapped in your pores (comedone - that is black heads)

Black heads' aren't dirt, they are a build up of oil under the skin.

You could try steaming your face after exfoliating, with a hot flannel or steaming over a bowl for a few minutes, this opens the pores. Then using a tissue, gently push upwards and the white stuff should come out.

Use a cleanser and toner daily, cleanser cleans away dirt/make up and excess oil. Use a toner to get rid of excess toner and close the pores down as well as get rid of too much oil that may be present. Moisturise with an oil free moisturiser.

Nivea Young is great for teenage skin.

Hope this helps you
References :
I am a beauty therapist of 8 years
