I am about 6.5 weeks pregnant and have experienced the same exact thing. I feel like a teenager breaking out all over again. My doctor told me that it's completely normal and there really isn't much I an do about it at the moment. I always break out right before AF but it was worse the week before AF didn't show up. I'm getting acne really bad across my jaw line, around my nose and my chin. I was advised to drink a lot of water and keep washing my face regularly. I also started only wearing make-up to work to prevent clogging my pores.
References :
Expecting #1 in Aug 2010!

I'm pregnant and have acne. I have never had it before until I got pregnant. I hated it and I wanted it gone. By the time I brought it up to my ob they said they couldn't give me anything for it because I was too far along but i could go see a dermatologist. So i went there and he prescribed a acne medication that was suppose to be lower in the bad chemicals so it would be safe for the baby as well. It is called like arye of something like that. I got the generic brand so I'm not too sure what the formal name for it is. It worked pretty good though. My acne didn't clear completely but it's so much better than before. Now its just flat dry little acne spots unstead of big red swelled looking ones. I know gross but the truth.
References :
Unfortunately there's not much you can do to prevent pregnancy acne and yes, it can appear ASAP. Try not to wash too much as that can dry out your skin and cause more breakouts. Wash your face using ONLY natural facial washes, nothing with harsh chemicals (which are most of them), moisturize with a light airy moisturizer. Don't do what some women do and apply makeup with a garden trowel. I'm sure you know most of the "keep the face clean and moist" tricks if you've been prone to harsh breakouts before.

The good news is that it goes away once the baby is born and your hormones go back to normal! :o) Good luck and have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
